Easy as One, Two, Three
BELMONT--The Parca Reading Program for adults with developmental disabilities is gearing up for a third year. The students learn to recognize words they need to know in order to go grocery shopping and do other tasks independently. Slowly, the students improve their ability to recognize, sound-out and write words. Parca is currently looking for a teacher to run the next class. If you or someone you know is interested, please call Sue Digre at Parca at (650) 312-0730. |

| Since many Parca clients struggle to grasp phonetics, the Reading Program focuses on functional words by stressing recognition and memorization.
Students generally enroll in the program at different reading levels, ranging from remedial to third grade. The program is organized by Parca Family Support Services Director Sue Digre. |
