Independent Living Skills Half Moon Bay Area: ILS Counselor creates one’s own schedule to work with clients both in the community and in their homes. The counselor will implement the goals of each individual client by following the Individual Service Plan to include: personal/social, domestic, financial, and community goals. The counselor is responsible for completing quarterly and semi-annual reports to be turned in to the program manager. Attendance is required for any client meetings as well as monthly dept.staff meetings. Position pays $13 per hour.

1. Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience, in special education, social work, rehabilitation counseling, or related field.
2. Minimum of one year of experience working with developmentally disabled or behaviorally challenged individuals, preferably in a residential or independent living situation.
3. Minimum of 18 years of age.
4. Valid California driver’s license and a safe driving record.
5. Willingness to be flexible in shift schedule assignments.
6. Possess maturity, judgment and skills in interpersonal relations with the ability to interact appropriately with management, co-workers and clients.
