Residents of Horizons Apartment Complex show off some of their cookie creations in the Horizon's community room. Horizons has an onsite Recreation Coordinator who plans activities for all of the residents to enjoy nearly every day of the week, including computer, cooking and fitness classes, movie nights and occasional off site outings to restaurants and local attractions.

Horizons is an assisted living apartment complex for adults with developmental disabilities. Residents receive independent living skills training in order to learn how to:

• Perform household duties
• Manage money
• Use public transportation
• Find recreational opportunities
• Find employment or an appropriate day program

Horizons is a unique 24-unit apartment development built around a landscaped common area. It is located at 825 Old County Road in Belmont. It accommodates 26 adult men and women ages 18 and over. Their dependent children are welcome. Parca provides the services of independent living skills counselors to help residents live with dignity, build personal and social relationships and become more self-sufficient.

Horizons offers computer classes, arts & crafts sessions and healthy cooking classes. It has a self-directed tenant association and a strong family support group that hosts holiday dinners and summer parties.
