Alameda House is a place where eight individuals with developmental disabilities make friends, learn skills and participate in activities in their own community. This beautiful, five bedroom home in Redwood City is much more than a residence. It is also an opportunity for the people to learn the skills and behaviors necessary to live in the community. Each resident helps to establish an individualized plan with Parca staff designed to learn a variety of independent living skills and to improve their ability to resolve personal issues. Staff provides the individualized training, experiences and guidance for each resident to apply these new skills and to develop their overall self esteem.
Parca staff is available 24 hours, 7 days a week to assist residents with training, personal or medical needs, and to plan activities and outings in the community. Staff assists residents with nutrition and exercise, social skill development, and recreational activities as well as training in independent skills such as cooking, budgeting, shopping and cleaning. There is also an overnight staff to ensure safety and nighttime supervision for the residents.

Alameda House is owned and operated by Parca, with financial assistance from Housing and Urban Development (HUD) which provides rental subsidies. The services provided at the home are funded through the Golden Gate Regional Center.
