Parca Events




		Parca has a People First chapter where a group of adults with developmental disabilities meet at 6:00 p.m. every second Monday of each month to discuss issues they face and how to advocate for themselves. The group also travels to conferences and the state capitol from time to time to speak out on issues. "Are you myopic or do you wear glasses? Are you cancerous or do you have cancer? Are you freckled or do you have freckles? Are you handicapped/disabled or do you have a disability? People First Language describes what a person HAS, not what a person IS!" If you would like to join the group, please call Jim Engvall, People First Chapter President, at Parca's Horizons Apartments at (650) 508-9420. The group meets in the community room at Horizons apartments, 825 Old County Road in Belmont. Please call ahead for details and to make arrangements.
